Privacy policy for Sketch applications

This policy covers the applications we publish on the Apple App Store, Google Play and the web. The website has its own notice.

Who this is from

This policy is issued by Sketch Solutions Private Limited, X-15, 3rd Floor, Hauz Khas, New Delhi 110016, India (CIN U74999DL2016PTC303399), for the applications it publishes under its own developer name. It is written to the standard of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and its Rules. Where an application is built for an institution (a department, an authority, a utility, a bank or a business), that institution decides what the application collects and why, and its own notice applies in addition to this one; Sketch processes the data on the institution’s instructions.

What an application collects

Only what the service you are using needs. Depending on the application, that can be:

  • Account details: your name, mobile number and, where you give it, an email address. A one-time password sent to your mobile number is used to verify it.
  • Service identifiers: the reference the institution uses for you, such as a consumer number, a property or plot identifier, an application number or a membership number.
  • Documents you upload, where a scheme or a service requires them, such as identity or address proof. Camera and file access are used only when you choose to upload, and only for that upload.
  • Payment details: when you pay, the payment itself is handled by the bank’s payment gateway on its own pages. The application keeps the transaction reference, the amount, the date and the status. It never stores your card number, UPI credentials or bank password.
  • Device and diagnostic data: device model, operating system version, application version, language, and crash reports, used to keep the application working.
  • A notification token, where the application offers notifications, so that the platform’s notification service (Apple Push Notification service or Firebase Cloud Messaging) can deliver them to your device.
  • Location, only in applications that offer a location-based feature, only while you use that feature, and only after you allow it in the device’s permission prompt.

We do not collect contacts, photos other than those you upload, browsing history or data from other applications. We do not use advertising SDKs and we do not show third-party advertising.

Why

To provide the service the application exists for: to register you, to show your dues, applications or bookings, to take payments through the gateway and give you a receipt, to send you the notifications you turn on, to answer your grievances, and to keep the application secure and working. We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell it.

Who else sees it

  • The institution the application serves, which owns the records of your transactions with it.
  • The payment gateway that processes your payment, under its own terms.
  • The SMS and email providers that deliver one-time passwords, receipts and notices.
  • The platform’s notification service, for notifications you turn on.
  • Our hosting provider, Google Cloud (Mumbai region), which keeps ordinary server logs to keep the service running and secure.

Nobody else. We do not share personal data with data brokers or advertisers, and we do not pass it to anyone outside these purposes.

Where it is kept, and for how long

Application data is stored in India. Records of transactions with an institution are kept for as long as that institution’s rules and the law require. Account data that is not part of such a record is kept while your account exists and deleted within 90 days of its deletion. Diagnostic data is kept for up to 12 months.

Deleting your account

Where the application has an account, you can delete it from inside the application (Profile, then Delete account) or by writing to contact@sketchindia.co.in from the mobile number or email on the account. We delete the account and the personal data tied to it within 30 days. Transaction records the institution is required to keep by law are retained by the institution in its own records; they are no longer tied to an existing account.

Security

Data travels encrypted (HTTPS). Credentials are stored hashed. Access to production systems is limited to named staff and logged. Payments never touch our servers as card or UPI data.

Your rights

You may ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, withdraw consent, and nominate someone to act for you. Write to contact@sketchindia.co.in. We answer within 7 working days and never later than the period the Rules allow. If you are not satisfied, you have the right to complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Children

Our applications are not aimed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. Where a scheme allows an adult to apply on behalf of a family, the adult’s details are the account.
