Project Surveillance & Monitoring
PSMS tracks projects and schemes across stakeholders with milestones, roles and progress reporting.
What it does
Every project or scheme gets a nodal officer, a set of milestones and a place to record progress. Departments see their own projects, the head of the organisation sees all of them, and a milestone that has slipped is visible the day it slips. Reviews happen against the record, not against a verbal update.
Who uses it
The administrator oversees the projects, the schemes, the user roles and the overall progress. Departments create and track their projects and assign the responsibilities. Nodal officers manage the projects assigned to them and report the updates.
How it runs
The administrator creates a project and assigns it to a department, the department names the nodal officers, the milestones and the schemes, the nodal officer posts status and milestone updates as work proceeds, the department reviews progress against the goals and adjusts, and the administrator closes the loop with a final review.
In government, and in a private business
For a district or a department running dozens of schemes, the monthly review meeting starts from a dashboard where each scheme already shows its milestones and who owns them. The question in the room changes from “where are we” to “why is this one late”.
A contractor, a builder or a manufacturer with several sites and many work fronts has the same need to know which milestone is late and whose it is. The same create, assign, update and review loop works with a site engineer where the nodal officer sits.
How it runs, step by step
- CreateAdmin creates a project and assigns the department.
- AssignDepartment sets nodal officers, milestones and schemes.
- MonitorNodal officer updates statuses and milestones.
- Department reviewProgress reviewed and adjusted to goals.
- Final reviewAdmin closes the loop with adjustments.
