What it does

Sketch Park is parking software for anyone who runs a lot, or gives one out on contract. It is meant for the person who gets one figure per lot on the 1st of the month and has nothing to check it against. As each car comes in, the attendant types its plate. When it leaves, the stay is timed, the charge is worked out from your rate card, and the payment goes on that car’s entry.

So the month’s figure stops being a single number. At most lots today it arrives as one line per lot, built on paper slips and a cash box. Here you can open it. Each car is there, with the shift it came in on and the attendant who took the money.

Who uses it

The attendant, at the booth or out on the lot with a handheld, checks cars in and out and takes the money. A site manager keeps one site’s zones, spots and rates.

Head office sees every site. For a city, that is the department itself; for a private lot, the parking company’s office. It decides what each role may do, and its name and logo go on the tickets and receipts.

Anyone who only needs to look, such as the owner, the accounts section, audit or the licensing officer, can have a login meant just for viewing dashboards and reports.

How it runs

You set each site up once: its floors, zones, spots and lanes, and a rate for each type of vehicle.

At the entry the attendant types the plate and picks the vehicle type and the lane. Zone and spot can be left blank, and Sketch Park picks them from the zones you set up.

At the exit the stay is timed and priced from the site’s rate card, and he notes how it was paid: cash, UPI, card or FASTag. A car on a monthly pass is recognised and goes out with nothing to pay. If a ticket is lost, or a car goes out without paying, that goes on record too. Money not collected stays outstanding.

When the shift ends, the attendant counts the cash and types in the total. It sits next to what the shift’s entries add up to. If it’s short, you see by how much.

The reports come out of the same entries: revenue by day and by month, how full each zone ran, peak hours, how people paid, GST and shift shortages. Each one exports to Excel.

In government, and in a private business

If your department runs a lot itself, the day’s collection is the sum of its entries, each one priced from the rate card you set. If a contractor runs it on revenue share, you see the same entries he does. On a fixed monthly fee, those entries show what the lot really takes before it goes to auction again. All of it needs the contractor to use Sketch Park at the gate, and that is a condition you can put in the contract.

A car nobody enters leaves no record. What the screen does show is how many cars each zone should be holding right now, so whoever walks the lot can count and compare.

A mall, a hospital or a company running several lots has the same doubt about its own money. When a Tuesday night shift comes in short, the difference is on the shift screen. Nobody has to go back through the whole day’s cash.
